Wish
I had a wish to be inspired,
To clutch it in my hands.
But when my luck acknowledged me
I fumbled to despair.
I had a wish to be renewed;
To shine like glimmering gold.
But to my desire, so defeated
I couldn’t clean the dust.
I had a wish to be loved;
To wade within its depths.
But luck turned it’s head and laughed
I saw him pull the plug.
I had a wish to be determined;
To get there safe and quick.
But then, when I began to run
My legs were hard as lead.
I had a wish to give it up;
To end my futile desires.
But when I cast it in the pit,
It rose above my head.

Lovely
Good grief.
There’s such a thing
I have it everyday.
I mourn my being
With a grin
Such entities give way.
They say we are
Afraid of death,
Yet I am an exception.
I anticipate
My final breath
A lovely predilection.
