Dissenting Fissure

Impartial to the action,
I view
All the unlimited expanse
Between the generations.
Though common ties may bind
Their mode of existence,
The wise and the weary
Are portioned apart from
The stupid and the restless.
The first-born censure the fresh breed
Accused of chasing their shadows
While the accusers are casting them.
As the older portion scowls,
The newer section begs for an equation.
Yet, someday, perhaps, I
I will be on the latter portion,
Still with impartiality
Pondering, “will the ravine ever be fused?”
